Part 1 Did you know that already today, there are thousands of machines that have stolen the jobs of millions of people? Did you know that machines kill hundreds of people every year? Did you know that scientists believe that soon, robots far more intelligent than us will be created? Amazing, heh? But also quite sad... Knowing that millions are unemployed just because of our advancements in technology. This makes me wonder if technology is so good after all. Family's live badly now, just because of it. Just imagine a father. An old father, that still needs to feed his child and wife. He has just lost his job, because of a new machine that his company purchased. Being old, it is not very easy for the man to find a new job. It takes time. Where can the money come from??? The mother is unemployed and the child is still finishing off school. The family will struggle to live. Why??? Because of a recent machine, created to help humans. This is what we need to think about. Is technology helping us or putting us down? Part 2 " I go every day home to play with my Playstation. I love to play its games. I don't think that they hurt us mentally. They are just fun!" Mike, 10 years old " I love my grandson and how he behaves, but ever since his father bought him that machine, he doesn't care about me. He probably spends more time with it than with his family..." Elizabeth, 63 years old You can easily see the different opinion of people of different ages about technology. The young seem to like its effect on their life, but what about the elderly? Do they like loosing their family? Do they like seeing their grandsons hypnotized, looking only at the television, not exploring the other pleasures of life. Not spending time with them. And now in the age of portability, children are even wasting more time looking at a screen.
(Click here fo more specifications) In a few years, houses will even more filled with technology. Walls will have televisions that follow our pace through out the house. Rich men already have this. Noticed anythinng? Technology has a lot to do with money! Money is needed to investigate, money is needed to buy, money makes the technological world turn! This isn't a very beautiful image in your mind, is it? To make things worse money destroys families. "Mamma, I want that computer!" "Mamma, give me that game!" "Daddy, muumy doesn't give that to me!" As you can see money is a stupid concept that easily breaks strong bonds in relationships. And technologicalk items are very involved with money. Both things, therefore ruin friendships and families. But is the value of technology enough to fight away this problem? I believe so. The only problems that exists between people and technology are caused by people. People who can' use their common sense to use good features of the world for good.
War you may say has to do with technology. But are there computers asking powerful world leaders to fight. I don't believe so! We are the problem in technology. Its only fault. Strangely we are also its creators... Should we feel guilty for creating technology? Of course not. We should feel proud. Technology has made us advance in good things too! In medicine! How many of us wouldn't be alive if new medicines and operations hadn't been invented? Yes, as you can see technology saves people too. In information! Computers, internet, satellites, televisions... All things created by technology. As you can see technology also gives knowledge. Good things are brought... just as bad. We get more modern: in BAD and in GOOD.
